Naturland is developed as a new restaurant concept in WaterGarden Shopping Mall that has an interior design also conducted by GVDS. The main idea of the architectural design is to create an architectural background for natural elements that we hardly see in daily life, as flora, free range animals, raw smell and taste.
The important part is to provide enough room for natural life in an artificial space and keep everything as similar as to their natural state. For this reason, a vertical garden is established with edible plants which can be cultivated in enclosed space. Except the edibility, Naturland is considered to host ateliers that teach plantation and plant care. Therefore the withering relation of men and nature in the city life is promoted, despite the artificial assembly. The aim of the project is already about to integrate nature in our daily life through minimal scales regarding the mandatories and parameters of city life; instead of creating an artificial but hyperreal picnic site. This is why traditional and natural materials are preferred in the project. Impregnated natural textures are favored in wooden applications while terrazzo and solid wood are used on floors.
